A panel of artistic competences, especially in the music field, that’s Fouad Aouad’s stamp.
His passion for Oriental Music drove him forward to write down and publish many academic methods, trying to resolve the gaps of the old curriculums and to open up a new window, not to say horizon, on the Arabic Oriental music, hoping to give it an international aperture. Among his illustrious published works: The rules of Oud playing (1982), New method of solfeggio (1999), Occidental and Oriental Music Theories (2012),Chady Al Alhan (2016), the new complete version of The rules of Oud playing (2016) and the new version of New method of solfeggio (2016).
He founded and presided the Oriental Chanting Choir at the Faculty of Musicology /USEK (1985-1988) where he became the Arabic music consultant (1997-1999).
He composed many songs for many famous Lebanese artistic figures as well as the soundtrack for many TV series and theatre plays in addition to many renowned children’s songs.
Fouad Aouad was also renowned in the acting field where he played main roles in Sami Khayat and Marwan Najjar’s plays in addition to two TV series written by Marwan Najjar.
He, who believes in the “deep and noble feelings” that Oriental music best expresses, being the “closest to life,” is currently finishing the recording of his new musical CD that will be released soon.

On the 9th of March 2012, Fouad Aouad signed his new book “Occidental and Oriental Music Theories”, an exhaustive work that opens new horizons for the Arabic Oriental Music through a new approach of the Arabic modes’ nomenclature and their key signatures when transposed.
The rules of Oud playing” (2016) a six levels Oud playing method in 3 books.
“Chady al alhan” an eight levels arabic chanting method in 2 books.
This method is new since it considers the musical reading from several sides at a time: the reading in both directions using the various musical keys, the spoken or rhythmic reading in parallel with the melodic reading, the Occidental and Arabic Oriental musical modes, pointing out the relativity that exists among them in accordance with the rules of the musical theory.
